Can I bulk-upload items using OpenSea?

When you use the “Create an NFT” feature in OpenSea Studio, you can’t bulk-upload multiple NFTs at once. You’ll need to create each one individually, though you can set the supply quantity to be more than 1 if you’d like to mint multiple copies of the NFT.

However, you can upload your media and metadata in bulk when you prepare a Drop. Learn more here.

At this time, we don’t support creating generative NFT collections based on specified traits and rarity.

What file formats can I use to make NFTs? Is there a maximum size?

You can use a variety of file formats for images, videos, or audio to make your NFT. We currently support JPG, PNG, GIF, SVG, and MP4 files. The maximum supported file size is 50 MB.

How do I add a collection collaborator?

Collection collaborators can modify your collection settings. Keep in mind that collection collaborators can’t add new items or edit creator earnings recipient addresses or creator earnings percentages.

To add a collection collaborator, navigate to OpenSea Studio and find the collection you’d like to update. Click Edit details. On the Details tab, click + Add collaborator and enter their wallet address or ENS name. Click Submit.

Will the NFTs I create on OpenSea be visible on other platforms?

Once you’ve minted an item using OpenSea, it will exist on the blockchain you’ve chosen and be visible on that blockchain’s explorer, such as Etherscan. It should also appear by default on any other marketplace that supports your blockchain.

Is there a fee to create NFTs using OpenSea? Why do I have to pay to create NFTs?

OpenSea does not receive any fees when you use the “Create an NFT” feature in OpenSea Studio.

You will, however, need to pay gas fees to deploy your smart contract and mint the NFT. Gas is paid to validators on Ethereum, not OpenSea, and is the cost to process a transaction. Gas fees will vary depending on how busy the blockchain network is, and which chain you use to launch your collection. OpenSea doesn’t control the cost of gas, nor do we receive these fees.

What are the suggested file sizes for my collection page?

This tab is a way to tell your collection’s story and share your project roadmap in exciting ways: through video, images, and text. Learn more in our help guide.

How can I create an NFT without creating a collection?

Smart contracts are the technological infrastructure that enable NFTs to exist. NFTs don’t exist without them! On OpenSea, the “collection” that an NFT belongs to is really the smart contract that powers that group of NFTs.

You can’t create an NFT without creating a collection by deploying a smart contract. However, you can choose to create a single-item collection.

How do I add more items to an existing collection?

If you used OpenSea’s “Create an NFT” feature, you can add other items to an existing collection, as shown in the screenshot below.

You won’t be able to mint additional NFTs into any existing Drops collections, other custom smart contracts, or collections created using OpenSea's former "lazy minting" tool.

How many NFTs can I add to my collection?

When you use the “Create an NFT” feature, the limit of items you can add to a collection is 10,000 individual ERC-1155 NFTs. If you’re creating an ERC-1155 with multiple copies, you can create an NFT with up to 20,000 copies.

There is no cap to the number of items you can mint into Drops collections.
