This article is designed to guide users of our Klatyn marketplace ahead of the upcoming Klatyn contract migration. The migration outlined below will take place on Thursday, January 6, 2022. Please be prepared to follow the below instructions then.
This contract migration is part of the OpenSea and Klaytn integration maintenance. It adds support for the KIP37 token standard and creator earnings for Klaytn items on OpenSea (KIP37 is the Klaytn equivalent to the ERC-1155 NFT semi-fungible token standard).
Who will this affect?
The migration will affect current users of the OpenSea platform who have listings for items on Klaytn (KIP37 or KIP17).
What do OpenSea users with Klaytn based items need to do?
If you had any active listings for Klaytn NFTs
You will need to recreate your listings as all active listings will be cleared during the migration process.
If you had any active bids for Klaytn NFTs
You will need to place your bids again after the item owners recreate their listings post-migration.
Detailed instructions on how to bid on Klaytn based items can be found here.
One-time approval of the new contracts
When you make your first buy or sell action after the migration, you will be required to approve the integration contracts, even if you had previously approved them before the migration.
This approval will only need to be done once per account per token and can be completed by following the steps below.
For KIP17 NFT approval
To start, head to a KIP17 NFT item that you own and press the blue Sell button on the item page.
Set your desired listing price, eg. 10 WKLAY, then press Complete Listing at the bottom.
You'll then be prompted to complete your listing with two signatures. The first one is to approve selling for this specific collection. Click Confirm in your wallet to proceed.
Another wallet signature will appear, authorizing the listing of your item. Your item will be listed after this signature.
For KIP37 NFT approval
KIP37 NFT approval is similar to KIP17 NFT approval but requires an additional signature the first time you list.
To start, navigate to your KIP37 NFT item page, click Sell, and set your price.
You'll be prompted for three signatures, click Confirm or Sign each time to proceed with listing your KIP37 NFT.
