OpenSea supports NFT trading across multiple blockchains. This guide explains how to use our Polygon marketplace to create and sell NFTs without paying any gas fees.
That's right - no gas fees or ETH are needed!
Creating a Collection on Polygon
You can follow these steps to start creating NFTs for free:
1. Click your profile icon and select My Collections.
2. Click Create a collection.
3. Add your collection logo, description, banner, social media links, and set your creator earnings.
4. You can also select which blockchain will be used by default. Click on the dropdown menu and select Polygon.
-
- Polygon supports Polygon ETH by default, but you can also add other payment tokens.
Creating an NFT on Polygon
Now that your collection has been created, you can add an NFT by clicking the three-dot menu on the right side and selecting Add item.
You can now create a new NFT item. Upload your file and customize your NFT details!
Another benefit to Polygon is that you can now create a semi-fungible item for free. By increasing the Supply of your NFT, you can increase the number of copies that can be minted. This means your item can be owned by multiple wallets.
Once you're done, click the Create button to create your NFT. Once your NFT has been created, you'll see a confirmation message.
Congrats! You've just made your first NFT on Polygon.
Selling an NFT on Polygon
Now, let's sell your first NFT on Polygon. Visit your NFT and press Sell in the top right corner.
You'll be taken to a new pop-up window, where you can set your selling price and currency, and view any potential fees associated with your sale. You can also schedule your sale in advance!
Once you've confirmed your sale details, press Complete listing. You'll be asked to complete your listing in another window.
Your crypto wallet will prompt you to sign the transaction on your end.
OpenSea supports typed signatures on Polygon, the same as we do on Ethereum, making it easier for users to understand what they are signing. In order to complete the signature request, you'll be prompted to switch your wallet network to Polygon. It will look like this in MetaMask below:
Click Sign and your authorization will finish shortly after. Once your NFT listing is confirmed, you'll get a confirmation showing Your item has been listed!
You can also head back to the item page to see how your newly-listed NFT will appear to potential buyers. Good luck with your sale!
