In order to troubleshoot issues with buying or selling your NFT, or swapping a token, the OpenSea support team may request the transaction hash.
Transaction hashes are unique IDs assigned to each blockchain transaction. This includes any purchase, sale, transfer, or swap of an NFT or other token. If a gas fee is paid, a transaction hash is generated.
You can find the transaction hash (sometimes called the transaction ID) using your wallet software or using a blockchain explorer, such as Etherscan for Ethereum, Polygonscan for Polygon, or BaseScan for Base.
The example below shows an Ethereum blockchain transaction on Etherscan, but most other blockchain explorers work in a similar way.
How do I find my transaction hash on Etherscan?
First, you'll need your wallet address. You can find this in your crypto wallet or next to your account name on OpenSea. Make sure you're using the wallet that you used to make your purchase.
Once you have your wallet address, navigate to Etherscan and paste it into the search bar.
This will take you to the wallet address’ summary page on Etherscan. On the bottom left of the page, under the overview, you'll be able to see transaction hashes under the Transaction Hash column.
You can click into any transaction or copy the transaction hash to your clipboard. Make sure to include transaction hashes in text (rather than screenshots) when reaching out to OpenSea support.
How do I find my transaction hash using OpenSea?
You can also obtain your transaction hash for NFT transactions using OpenSea.
In your profile, select the activity tab. Click on the time stamp redirect link to view the transaction on the blockchain explorer directly.
At this time, token swaps initiated through OpenSea do not appear in your profile’s activity tab. We hope to offer this functionality soon.
How can I view transactions for cross-chain swaps?
For token swaps where the starting and destination tokens are on different blockchains (such as swapping ETH on Ethereum for USDC on Solana), you can either use Relay’s interface or check the blockchain explorer for the starting or destination token (Solana in the example below).
For a list of chains OpenSea is compatible with, and their respective blockchain explorers, reference this Help Center guide.
Using Relay to Access Swap Transaction Info
Navigate to https://relay.link/transactions.
Search the transaction hash or wallet address that initiated the transaction.
Using a chain explorer
As an example, let’s look at a swap from ETH to SOL, completed using OpenSea’s swap functionality and powered by Relay.
The screenshot below shows the funds sent from Ethereum, using Etherscan:
Then, to see the SOL received on Solana, navigate to SolScan and search your recipient wallet:
