Your NFT is safe. A listing you create using OpenSea on Solana is an onchain action, so the item moves into a marketplace escrow account that holds it while your listing is live.
Your wallet app, such as Phantom, stops showing the item while it is listed. That is expected.
Your OpenSea profile still shows the item as yours, marked as listed.
Cancel the listing and the item returns to your wallet in the same transaction.
If someone purchases it, the item goes to the buyer and the payment goes to you.
Escrow is an account that holds the item until the listing ends. It is not a person's wallet, and it is not shared with other items. Each item has its own escrow account, created for your listing and closed when the listing ends.
You can cancel your listing at any time. No one can purchase your item for less than the price you set. OpenSea keeps a limited authority to close listings, for example when we move to a new version of the Solana marketplace program, or for policy enforcement. Whenever a listing is closed, your item goes back to your wallet. You receive the price you set minus the OpenSea fee, and buyers pay creator earnings on top of your price.
Listings created on some other Solana marketplaces work differently and leave the item in your wallet, so this article describes listings you create using OpenSea.
On Ethereum a listing is a signature and the item stays in your wallet. Solana listings you create using OpenSea are different because each one happens onchain.
If your OpenSea profile does not show a listed item as yours, contact us with the item link, the mint address, and your wallet address so we can look into it.
