How can I view my PnL?

Updated over a month ago

You can now view your estimated token profit and loss (PnL) from EVM crypto token pages on OpenSea. PnL represents the net financial gain or loss of the tokens you own, helping you better assess their performance.

Native tokens (like ETH), wrapped native tokens, and stablecoins do not currently display PnL on OpenSea. PnL is also not calculated for NFTs.

There are a few key terms to know to understand your PnL:

  • Holding: the amount of the token that you currently own

  • Value: the current value of your token holdings in USD

  • Invested: the total amount spent to acquire the token in USD

  • Realized: gains or losses you’ve already realized through sales or transfers in USD

  • Unrealized: current potential value of tokens not yet sold or swapped, minus your invested amount, in USD. Unrealized gains or losses reflect current market conditions and can change.

  • Return: combines both realized and unrealized amounts to show your overall performance (gain or loss), and displays as a percent change

To view your PnL, visit an OpenSea token page for an EVM token you own and look for the “Your Position” section:

OpenSea estimates PnL using the FIFO method (“first in, first out”), where the first tokens you purchased are considered the first ones sold. As a result, your PnL on OpenSea may be different from your PnL displayed on other platforms that use different calculations.
